Marie Gabriel, the founder and president of Haiti’s Child, gave her life to Jesus Christ while living in Haiti when she was just ten years old. Marie moved to the US when she was 26 years old and shortly thereafter had a dream about buying land in Haiti. But she questioned whether this was truly from God. Many years passed and Marie returned to Haiti and experienced the same vision. It was then that Marie realized God’s call for her life. Scraping together all the money she could, she placed a deposit on the property.

Since then she has spent years in Haiti developing the property, managing the teachers and workers and loving the children. Marie also has 4 children who are all involved with Haiti’s Child and are a great support.

Marie remained in Haiti and withstood the brutal hurricanes that passed through the island during the middle of 2012. Through faith in Jesus Christ, she stood strong to protect that which God has so graciously provided. Her commitment and faith throughout the often difficult and disastrous times has proved to be one of the motivating forces to the many volunteers back in the States.
